Our Asphalt Mavericks Tour along the Costa da Morte in June was incredible! Three days enjoying national roads and fantastic landscapes under glorious sunshine. We set off from Barcelos and went up to Castrillón, in Galicia and Asturias, exploring the beauty of the coast and the Somiedo Natural Park, before returning to Matosinhos. Plenty of camaraderie and great riding curves!

Day 1: Heading to the Coast of Death
30/05/2024
We left Barcelos, heading towards Costa da Morte, under a radiant sun. We covered 366 km in 8 hours on national roads, passing through Ponte de Lima, Valença, and the Galician cities of Pontevedra and Santiago de Compostela. We ended the day in Camariñas, enjoying the coastal landscape before spending the night at Hotel Playa de Laxe, ready for more adventures.

Day 2: Rias Altas and Lighthouses

The second day took us through the Rias Altas and the lighthouses route, covering 415 km under constant sun. We departed from Laxe, passed through Malpica, and drove along the Atlantic coast via A Coruña, Ferrol, Cedeira, Ortigueira, and Viveiro. It was a day of stunning coastal landscapes before arriving at Hotel Castillo de Gauzón in Castrillón for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Somiedo and Return
01/06/2024
On the last day, we departed from Castrillón and headed south, with 484 km of road and plenty of sunshine. We entered through Somiedo Natural Park, passing through Pola de Somiedo, before continuing through Ponferrada and Ourense. The return to Portugal was via Chaves and Vila Real, culminating in Matosinhos. Curves and mountainous landscapes marked the end of this adventure.
